12 dogs x 4 legs = 48 legs, 10 boys x 2 legs = 20 legs, 48 + 20 = 68

10 boys is the answer

There are ten boys on the playground. there are 20 legs divided by 2 which is how many legs we have and that equals 10.

12 dogs 10 boys
x 4 legs each x 2 legs each
_____________ _____________
48 legs 20 legs

so 48 legs plus 20 legs = 68 legs

12 dog heads plus 10 boy heads = 22 heads

so there are 10 boys in the yard
